Our professional team exceed the normal standards for in-water instruction. Agencies like PADI, SSI, etc, do not teach students. It is the professional dive Team that do. Divecrew believe in having the very best professionals because, well, you deserve it. Our professional team are also Child Safe Guarding Certified, Adult Safe Guarding Certified and NVQ Level 2 Mental Health Qualified.  Able to provide services to the very nervous and or mentally physically challenged, fully insured and enhanced DBS licensed. Do not be afraid to ask about your instructors qualifications, achievements and experience.

Sue Coffey, Co-Owner

Sue is the owner of Divecrew with her husband, Martin. They have owned Divecrew since 2012. Sue is a PADI Staff Instructor, Deptherapy MSDT and SSI Instructor. BSAC Instructor.

Sue’s background is high level HR (Human Resources) in top quality hotels. Sue brings in customer care and human relations, to the dive centre.

You will often find Sue in the dive centre working with Emily and Charlie.

Martin Weddell, Co-Owner

 Martin AKA SHARK BITE owns Divecrew with his wife, Sue. Martin heads up the professional Team and teaches three different agencies. Highly experienced Platinum Master Instructor. Elite Master Instructor. Instructor Trainer for Deptherapy with over a decade of teaching British Veterans with life changing injuries. Taught the worlds first triple amputee rescue diver. An experienced and specialist adaptive instructor working with A list celebrities, divers with ADHD, Autism, Aspergers, and a quadriplegic. Deputy Programme Director for Deptherapy. BSAC open water Instructor.

Dale Spree Course Director

Divecrew are pleased to have Dale as our Course Director, one of the most respected and experienced Course Directors in the UK. Dale has a vast experience of recreational and technical diving. Her background covers everything you can think of diving wise including owning a dive centre and operating dive boats.

Emily – Admin and Retail Assistant

Emily fell in love with diving when training with us in 2023, she’s gone on to complete her PADI Rescue course and has a dry suit specialty. When she’s not working in our office she can be found spending time with her many pets or watching ocean documentaries- she’s always happy to chat about all things ocean!

Charlie – Operations Manager

Charlie loves all things ocean, if you cant find her at the divecentre she will either be at the beach or on a coastal walk. No matter the weather!
Charlie loves to travel and speant 3 years living in a van before moving to Australia where she lived on a dive boat in the great barrier reef. Now back in the UK exploring the colder side of diving 🙂

Terry Sands (Big T), MI

Terry has been diving since 2001, became a PADI Divemaster in 2004, a PADI Instructor in 2005 and a Master Instructor in 2011, Terry is also a fully qualified technician.

Absolutely highly skilled, experienced and cool in the water. We have coaxed Terry out of retirement and he helps when we are drowning under a mount of regulators that need servicing.

Steve Bond (Stebe), IDC Staff Instructor

Steve is a PADI Elite Staff instructor, SSI DM Instructor and BSAC Instructor. Steve often takes the lead on our schools programmes including overseas teaching trips. He is regularly found in the dive centre helping out in the office, if you wish to befriend him just make a cup of tea and give him plenty of biscuits (or cake).

Paul Woodhouse, IDC Staff Instructor

Diving since 2007, started on a holiday in Barbados. Passionate about travel, the water, and personal development, Paul enjoys a getaway abroad twice a year and can often be found poolside. He’s a dedicated advocate of marine conservation and has a particular passion for diving with manta rays and sharks. Through freediving and mermaiding, he embraces personal growth and continuously expands his skill set. As someone who is neurodiverse, Paul adapts his teachings to accommodate diverse learning styles, promoting a calm and sympathetic approach in all his instruction. Additionally, Paul is passionate about first aid and teaches it at an instructor trainer level.

Mike Smart, MSDT  Instructor

Patrick Wadsworth, MSDT Instructor

Patrick has been diving since 2007 and is a MSDT (Master Scuba Diver Trainer).

Apart from diving, he enjoys running, cycling and being outside.

Richie Collins , MSDT Instructor

Richie is a MSDT Divecrew Instructor with specialties. Richie has been diving for a very long time! Richie is a very dedicated family man and when not with them, He can often be seen in the Dive Centre always helping out and diving as much as he can. Richie may look tough due to his rugby background, but he is a big softie who loves to make people smile!

Tony Wood –  MSDT Instructor

Tony has been a ‘holiday diver’ for 12 years after qualifying in 2012. Wanting to improve his skills and dive far more frequently, he completed his dry suit and rescue diver course. Went on to become a Divecrew Dive Master then onto instructor. Tony runs his own business as a financial adviser and plays drums in three bands (He even has his own groupies), as well as learning French, playing 5 a side football and walking one of 6 ‘loan dogs’! An amazing fun guy.

Beth Leversuch, PADI MSDT Instructor

Beth in an incredible instructor with a passion for adaptive diving, eco friendly diving and PADI aware projects. Usually found exploring all the best UK dive sites

Beth started scuba diving when she was 17 for a trip away with the army cadets and just fell in love with the ocean. When she went travelling in 2019, she spent 4 weeks at a marine conservation site in Nosy Be, Madagascar. Once she was back in the UK she knew she needed to prioritise scuba diving again and has become a vital part of the Divecrew team earning her Divemaster Status since then working her way up to Divecrew Instructor and now having the title of Master Scuba Diver Trainer! 

Chris – Instructor

Sean Martin, Instructor

Sean started diving in 2014 and qualified as a Divemaster in 2018 and has also worked with the Deptherapy charity. Sean is an OWSI Instructor and is passionate about technical diving and can often be seen in his twinset!

Shehab Alderazi (Shabby), AI

Shehab has been diving since 2017. Diving in the Red Sea, Arbian Gulf and the UK. Worked as a public relations manager with Diver Vision in Bahrain.

Stuart Green, AI

Stuart has been diving since 2009 and is PADI Assistant Instructor, Deptherapy Adaptive Assistant Instructor and an accomplished underwater photograph.

Alan Sturgess, DM

Alan has been diving since 2002 . Qualified with Divecrew in 2004. He has been a Divemaster since 2009 and enjoys seeing his try-diver students through to passing their open water. Alan retired (early) which allows him to help teach anyone who wants midweek courses hint and Tips.

Ian Grant, DM

Ian completed his PADI Open Water in 2005, PADI Master Scuba Diver in 2009, IANTD Advanced Recreational Trimix Diver in 2012, Achieving his PADI Divemaster Course in 2023 and working with the Divecrew Professional Team.

Jack M – DM

Jack joined Divecrew in 2025 starting his journey on our trainee dive master program. He is now a Member of the Divecrew Pro Team and regulary joins us on courses when not travelling around the wolrd for work!

Kim Von Arx, DM

Kim has recently joined us as a Divemaster and has been expanding his diving experience by exploring the technical side of diving.

Matt C- DM

Matthew is a jolly good chap who first started diving at the age of 12, fell in love with it, and decided to start down the pro route, qualifying as a Divemaster in 2025. He can often be seen around the shop and in the pool on weekends, and is hard to miss in the open water with his bright orange drysuit!

Melvin Marks, DM (Tiny)

Mel is one of our long standing Divecrew members and has now gone on to complete his Divemaster training. He is very lovely and can be seen running around assiting our Instructors on their courses, not to mention he is quite tall so can always be spotted in our big groups!

Roger Coop DM

Roger has been a Divemaster with us for many years and is now our Trainee Divemaster Mentor. Roger likes to keep active in his retirement and when he is not diving he is usually out on his bike on adventures.

Sabrina Artus, DM

Sabrina learnt to dive whilst on holiday in Cyprus back in 2008. She is currently a Divemaster and Scubapro technician

Suzii had been diving for 11 years and remains a big fan of bright reefs, big sharks and turtles

Adam is one of our trainee divemasters and if he isn’t working he’ll either be in the water or walking his lovely little Daschund Cody.

Ian completed his Open Water certification in Aruba in 2016 with his family, followed by a coral reef conservation project in Thailand in 2022. At the start of 2025, Ian realized he could take his diving further to open more opportunities in the film stunt industry, leading him to sign up for his Rescue Diver and Divemaster courses.

Scuba Dog Coral

Coral is an all time favourite in the dive centre. She just melts peoples hearts with her eyes. Soft as a brush and a real star.

Scuba Dog Finn

Son of Coral, you would never belive it! Often seen bouncing around in the dive centre. A true water dog.

Scuba Dog Cody 

Cody brings TDM Adam into the shop at times. Cody is full of love and will often be seen in the office at our basecamp with the team!

Land Dog Merlin

Merlin is terrified of water so you will never see him in the water but on land he bounces around and is loved greatly by all of the team. He lives with Alex.
